Section - A

2. Discuss in brief cognitive dissonance theory of attitude.
3. Explain the importance of motivation.
4. Explain differences between a manager and a leader.
5. Bringout with comments, the essence of social learning theory of personality.
6. Your professor had arranged a guest lecture by a person for your class. The guest came wearing an ordinary dress. That is your immediate perception after seeing him before he is introduces to you?

7. "Our product is rightly priced, but not accepted in the market due to reported poor quality. Our production department claims that they are manufacturing products keeping quality in mind. I am in dilemma, as to what can be done" said the Chief Marketing Manager of XYZ Limited. The CEO, after listening to all the departmental heads in this regard, appointed a committee to look into the problem.
Question: before proceeding to the task, what are the aspects to be examined by the committee members so as to function as a dynamic group.
8. A manager found that there are three categories of employees in his department.
a) Some of them are self motivated and hence posed no problems to the department.
b) Some of them needed to be motivated properly and so could e managed to achieve the department goals.
c) There were a few other employees who were stubborn in their attitude and so manager was helpless in dealing with them.
As a manager, how do you motivate the above mentioned three categories of employees reporting to you?
9. Distinguish between intra-personal and inter personal relationships. What can we do practically to have excellent interpersonal relationship with:
a) Subordinates
b) Peers
c) Superiors
10. Compare and contrast Maslow's need hierarchy theory with Herzberg's two factor theory of motivation.
